Henley Business Angels invests in Everybody Counts, an EdTech making maths accessible to every child in the world

Everybody Counts, an edtech using cutting-edge machine learning to make the mastery of maths accessible to every child in the world, has received investment from Henley Business Angels, contributing towards a funding round of £2.25m.

Global numeracy rates are decreasing, and whilst technology is advancing, education has not kept up.

This lack of numerical literacy costs the USA $62.7 billion per annum, and 59% of children are failing to meet minimum proficiency levels in maths. This impacts the working economy, with only 12% of adults worldwide demonstrating competency in maths.

Everybody Counts’ multilingual, intuitive learning Maths programme can be taught anywhere in the world, and combines a simple front-end with cutting-edge machine learning to produce an accessible, gamified solution that enables world-class resources to be localised and adjusted to ensure global reach.

Already working closely with NGOs and charities focused on supporting children, such as the UN, UNESCO, and Save the Children, Everybody Counts is passionate about their mission to close the numeracy gap and boost global confidence in maths.

The money raised from this round will be focused on converting their US sales pipeline, as well as accelerating market deployment and boosting R&D.

Andy Ridgway, Co-Founder and CEO of Everybody Counts, is excited to continue growing the business internationally, saying, “Most countries we are working with have a huge number of primary school children (Vietnam, Bangladesh, Philippines, etc.), yet remain relatively untapped markets as too many focus on the high cost, exclusive private schools markets. We scale rapidly, localise cultural references and languages all at an affordable price point.

Chris Rees, Co-Managing Director of HBA, was delighted by the investment, saying, “We’re happy to be supporting Andy and the team on their mission to make maths accessible to every child in the world. It’s an admirable goal, and the technology they’ve developed, combined with the team’s unique expertise, will undoubtedly bring them success. We at HBA look forward to seeing their progress in 2026.
