29 Jun Smart-Packaging Company Mimica Lab Receive Investment from Henley Business Angels Members
Mimica Lab, a business that produces award-winning technology designed to reduce waste in perishable products such as food and pharmaceuticals, have received investment from Henley Business Angels members to contribute to their funding round.
Mimica Lab has raised £470k that includes investment from members of Henley Business Angels. The funds are being used to conduct a pilot in partnership with Arla, the UK’s largest dairy company.
Mimica Lab’s first product is Mimica Touch, a patented label that tells you exactly when food spoils. It is calibrated to degrade at the same rate as food and adjusts to conditions along the way. It has received recognition from several sources, including the BBC and The Telegraph newspaper.
John Knechtel, Chief Financial Officer at Mimica Lab, said: “We are delighted with the response we have received from investors and, on the basis of that demand, expect to close the round in due course. The success of this round has propelled Mimica’s mission, to be the global mark of freshness for businesses and communities.”
Jurek Sikorski, Director of Henley Business Angels, was equally positive, saying: “Mimica has developed a really ingenious packaging solution that reduces food waste which is heading to become a commercial reality.”
