ScreenLimit, a cross-platform application to limit children’s screen time, receives investment from Henley Business Angels

ScreenLimit, a recently launched screen time parental control software provider, has received funding from a member of the Henley Business Angels alongside other angel investors. In total the amount invested in ScreenLimit totalled £150,000.

ScreenLimit allows parents to limit their children’s screen time remotely from a smart phone, tablet or web browser. Overuse of devices has been linked to childhood obesity, poor performance in class and general bad behaviour. Parents can instantly block, schedule times of the day when devices are inactive, allow or block specific apps, reward their children for good behaviour and message their children.

Described as the only fully cross-platform app of its type working on iOS, Android and Amazon devices along with Windows PCs, ScreenLimit provides each child a daily time limit which allows them to switch between multiple devices on a synchronized timer. This ensures that they can’t use more screen time than they’ve been allowed.

ScreenLimit is already trading worldwide and its app is available to download via its website and the various app stores. Several potential distribution deals are being discussed that will rapidly expand the reach of the company and build revenues.

The money raised by ScreenLimit will be used to bolster business development by funding marketing, content creation and forming strategic partnerships, along with product development to introduce further functionality.

Jeremy Drayton, CEO of ScreenLimit, said: “We’re thrilled to have closed our SEIS investment round and are now looking to secure a large piece of the expanding market for parental controls, as the only provider to work across multiple platforms.”

Jurek Sikorski, founder and Director of Henley Business Angels, said: “We are delighted to have participated in ScreenLimit’s first funding round. Henley Business Angels will continue to support ScreenLimit to address the growing concern all parents have about their children spending too much time in front of device screens and in the process help resolve the problems that result.”
